chronic depression
What is Chronic Depression ?Dysthymia, sometimes referred to as chronic depression, is a less severe form of depression but the depression symptoms linger for a long period of time, perhaps years. Those who suffer from dysthymia are usually able to function adequately, but
seem consistently unhappy.
Depression is a strong feeling of sadness. Many people experience depression in response to a loss or sad event. In these cases, an episode of depression usually lasts for six to nine months. However, when depression lasts longer, and the depressive symptoms go away for a short time only to return again, it is termed chronic depression. While everyone experiences sadness at one time or another, these feelings are generally temporary. Chronic depression is
long-lasting, interferes with daily activities, and causes
a loss of interest in things that were normally pleasurable to the patient.
What causes Chronic Depression ?
While depression is frequently a response to a sad or traumatic event, the cause of chronic depression is often not known. Chronic depression can occur when
stresses in a person's environment become overwhelming, such as
years of childhood abuse and neglect. It can also be caused by chronic illness, such as AIDS, Parkinson's disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, certain chronic cardiac conditions, and hormonal disorders.
Symptons of Chronic Depression:
Persistent sad, anxious, or
"empty" mood
Loss of appetite and/or weight loss, or
conversely overeating and weight gain
Insomnia,
early-morning awakening, or oversleepingRestlessness or irritability
Feelings of
worthlessness, inappropriate guilt,
helplessnessFeelings of hopelessness, pessimism
Difficulty thinking, concentrating, remembering, or making decisions
Thoughts of death or suicide or attempts at suicide
Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities that were once enjoyedDecreased energy, fatigue, feeling "slowed down" or sluggish
Persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to treatment, such as
headaches, digestive disorders, and chronic pain parts underlined are obviously the things i have gone through;

DR. PeiShan in the house (:
i think my whole nasal system :/
those who study biology might know;
that there's this passageway connecting the cheeks, nose and eyes.
so yeah, i think that part is either congested or infected.
BOO.that explains why im having eye infections like everyday since friday;
SIGH.i've got running or blocked nose then eye infection, and now;
pimples outbreak on my cheeks.
see how they link now ?
tsktsk.then i went to search the net out of boredom
and this is what i've found:
When a sensitive person inhales an allergen (allergy-causing substance) like ragweed pollen, the body's immune system reacts abnormally with the allergen.
The allergen binds to allergic antibodies (immunoglobulin E) that are attached to cells that produce histamine and other chemicals.
The pollen "triggers" these cells in the nasal membranes, causing them to release histamine and the other chemicals.
Histamine dilates the small blood vessels of the nose and fluids leak out into the surrounding tissues, causing
runny noses, watery eyes, itching, swelling and other allergic symptoms.
credit (:Sinusitis (Sinus)
The symptoms depend on what is causing the sinus inflammation.
In acute allergic sinusitis, the main symptoms are
sneezing, clear, bilateral watery nasal discharge, tearing, eye itching, nasal congestion, nasal and ear itching, and sometimes coughing.
Less frequent are wheezing,
eczema, skin rashes, face pain or pressure.
On exam, the nasal lining is swollen and varies from intensely red to a pale pink appearance with clear liquid secretion.
The eyes may also be red.
A viral upper respiratory disorder will be characterized by a variety of symptoms including sore throat lasting for 24-48 hours, laryngitis, nasal stuffiness, fever,
chills, sweats, muscle aches, and joint pains.
The nasal discharge is usually clear and watery, then becomes thicker and discolored.
The color ranges from white to slightly yellow to green-brown.
Face pain and cough may occur.
The hallmark for uncomplicated viral rhinosinusitis is that it will spontaneously resolve in
10-14 days, occasionally lasting
21 days.credit (:ah, i see all my symptoms !
noooo :/
and 21 days is like super awful can.
